This professional license is aimed at students with a Bac +2 diploma (L2, DUT, BTS) in physics and/or chemistry. Its aim is to provide them with the fundamental and practical knowledge, as well as the technical skills, needed to operate effectively in nuclear-related environments. Graduates are rapidly operational in the public and private sectors, particularly in the following areas
- operation and dismantling of nuclear facilities,
- fuel cycle,
- instrumentation and nuclear metrology,
- radiation protection (environmental and hospital aspects).
Today, these sectors offer numerous job opportunities, particularly at Bac +3 level, with prospects for sustained growth over the coming years.
A benchmark course
With over 25 years’ experience, this course stands out for :
- a wealth of content covering both industrial and medical nuclear applications,
- a solid foundation in instrumentation and related techniques,
- close links with research via the Institut Pluridisciplinaire Hubert Curien – Département de Recherche Subatomique (IPHC/DRS).
It meets the skills needs of the Grand Est region, and more widely at national level, as demonstrated by the varied profiles of the students recruited and the partnerships with companies throughout France.
Research support
The course is strongly supported by theIPHC/DRS, which provides :
- premises and equipment (nuclear physics laboratory, computer rooms, etc.),
- the expertise of its CNRS staff, involved in teaching and management.
Link with the world of work
Students benefit from real-life situations, thanks in particular to practical work sessions on the driving simulators at the EDF Cattenom nuclear power plant.
