About us I2EN

I2EN is the entry point for countries wishing to develop skills and training in the nuclear sector, and benefit from French expertise.

Established in 2010 at the initiative of the French government, with support from major nuclear industries and large institutions, the I2EN aims to strengthen the skills necessary for the development of nuclear energy programs. It assists countries seeking nuclear training and to leverage French expertise.
Relying on a vast network of academic and scientific partnerships, the Institute facilitates access to specialized training programs rooted in the French nuclear legacy, to convey in-depth knowledge of the various aspects of implementing a nuclear energy program. As a coordinator of training services, the I2EN provides specifications for training and educational programs, develops teaching materials, enhances learning with visits to industrial or experimental facilities, and assists countries in developing their nuclear skills.

We identify, coordinate and represent the French training offer

The International Institute for Nuclear Energy (I2EN) sets itself apart by offering countries aspiring to develop or strengthen their nuclear power production state-of-the-art education and training for human resources development.

Through active collaboration, I2EN helps these countries to build up their own training capacities. To meet this mission, I2EN identifies and coordinates the best solutions proposed by France, and shares practices through a solid network of leading universities, prestigious engineering schools and partnerships with the French nuclear industry.
