Orano joins I2EN to collectively shape the fuel cycle talents of tomorrow.

I2EN is proud to welcome Orano as a member, a key player in the nuclear fuel cycle, to jointly strengthen training offerings and enhance the international presence of French expertise.

Signature I2EN-OranoThe International Institute of Nuclear Energy (I2EN) is delighted to announce Orano’s membership. This agreement marks a significant step in strengthening cooperation among key players in the French nuclear sector for skills development and the promotion of French excellence internationally.

As a leading player in the nuclear fuel cycle, Orano is involved in all stages of the process: from uranium extraction and conversion to the recycling of spent fuels, and including radioactive waste management and facility dismantling. With 16,500 employees across about thirty countries, the group contributes to low-carbon, safe, and sustainable energy, supporting energy sovereignty and supply security. In France and abroad, Orano plays a strategic role in mastering the nuclear cycle and supporting low-carbon energy policies. The company is particularly renowned for its unique expertise in nuclear materials and waste management, a skill it already shares with many international partners.

Orano La HagueOrano, like the rest of the nuclear industry, is faced with a number of major projects: the downstream cycle of the future, maintaining downstream cycle production capacity until the completion of new plants, the extension of the enrichment plant at the Tricastin site, and the development project in the United States, still focused on enrichment. Against the backdrop of the global revival of the civil nuclear industry, Orano has made skills development a key part of its strategy. Training new generations of engineers and technicians, passing on rare and complex knowledge, and promoting the highest safety standards are all priorities for the Group.

In France, Orano has always worked in close collaboration with all players in the world of education, but when it comes to developing the talent the nuclear industry needs, we can’t confine ourselves to France alone. Orano’s membership of I2EN is fully in line with this international dynamic, with the aim of better structuring and promoting its training offer internationally, while contributing to the skills development of nuclear industry players worldwide.

The complementarity between I2EN and Orano is evident. I2EN serves as a one-stop shop to represent and coordinate the French nuclear training offer abroad, while Orano provides operational and specialized training derived from its industrial experience. Together, they will enhance the visibility and credibility of the French nuclear sector internationally, while supporting partner countries in developing safe, sustainable, and skilled nuclear programs.

"The decision of Orano to join our network represents a tremendous recognition of the unifying role played by I2EN. Together, we will join forces to promote an international model of French excellence, grounded in competence, safety, and responsibility."

"Joining I2EN is a statement of our commitment to share our expertise and contribute to the skill development of nuclear industry players worldwide. The future of the sector relies on the transmission of knowledge and cooperation: this is the vision we advocate alongside I2EN."

"I2EN is very proud to welcome Orano among its members and to embark on an ambitious new chapter of cooperation with them. This membership reflects a shared commitment: to enhance skills, showcase Orano's exceptional expertise in the fuel cycle, and promote French nuclear excellence on a global scale."
