The 11th FR-CZ-SK Winter School took place from February 23 to 27 in Pilsen, Czech Republic. It focused on an essential but sometimes lesser-known aspect of nuclear power plants: the conventional island and its associated systems.
On February 2nd 2026, I2EN travelled to Slovenia for a two days of high-level meetings with government officials, universities, research institutes, industry representatives and regulators, and presented its review of the University of Maribor's new Bachelor in Nuclear Engineering.
On January 27 in Brussels, the European Industrial Alliance on SMRs gathered policymakers, regulators, industry, academia and civil society for its first SMR Stakeholders' Forum. I2EN was invited to speak about what is special about Human Capacity Building for SMRs and AMRs.
I2EN is proud to welcome Orano as a member, a key player in the nuclear fuel cycle, to jointly strengthen training offerings and enhance the international presence of French expertise.
On October 21, the French Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Authority (ASNR) signed a membership agreement with I2EN.
From March 3 to 7, 2025, the Château de Cadarache hosted the International Workshop on the Future Role of SMRs and AMRs and their Applications, an event organized by I2EN and INSTN with contributions from ENEN.
