From June 8 to 12, 2026, I2EN brought together 29 professionals from 14 countries in La Défense for the second edition of its Master Class on the strategic fundamentals of the new nuclear energy sector. It was a week of expertise, lessons learned, and international dialogue on the conditions for the success of a civil nuclear program.

June 11, 2026. Tomáš Drucker, Minister of Education, Research, Development, and Youth of the Slovak Republic, visited I2EN to discuss opportunities for exploring concrete avenues of cooperation between Slovakia and France in support of nuclear skills development and academic excellence. Discussions focused on creating stronger ties between Slovak and French higher education institutions, with the aim of developing high-quality, internationally recognized nuclear education programs

The agreement establishes a long-term framework for cooperation on capacity building in the nuclear sector between I2EN and the new Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy.

On March 24, 2026, the I2EN Convention was held, a landmark event for the nuclear community, bringing together nearly 75 participants: I2EN members, partners and industry experts. Together, they explored developments in the institute's activities, while sharing experiences and new ideas to consolidate France's position in the field of nuclear skills training.

The 11th FR-CZ-SK Winter School took place from February 23 to 27 in Pilsen, Czech Republic. It focused on an essential but sometimes lesser-known aspect of nuclear power plants: the conventional island and its associated systems.

On February 2nd 2026, I2EN travelled to Slovenia for a two days of high-level meetings with government officials, universities, research institutes, industry representatives and regulators, and presented its review of the University of Maribor's new Bachelor in Nuclear Engineering.
