The Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR) plays a crucial role in the development of higher education, research and innovation in France. Its main missions include defining educational policies, allocating resources, and promoting innovation and scientific culture. MESR supervises higher education establishments and research organizations, ensuring the quality and relevance of French education and research.
As part of the revival of the nuclear sector, MESR is actively participating in the national effort to train and attract the necessary talent. The government has announced an investment of over 100 million euros in training, research and innovation in the nuclear sector. This investment is designed to meet the need for 100,000 people in the nuclear industry over the next ten years.
Collaboration with the International Institute for Nuclear Energy (I2EN) could considerably strengthen the nuclear training offering. As a key player in bilateral nuclear training cooperation, I2EN could contribute to the internationalization of programs and the attraction of foreign students. This collaboration would be perfectly aligned with the MESR’s objectives for the international influence of French higher education and the development of skills in the nuclear sector.
