The National Agency for Radioactive Waste Management (Andra<\/a>) and I2EN are formalizing their partnership with Andra’s membership in I2EN. This collaboration aims to showcase French expertise internationally and structure the nuclear training offering, with a particular focus on the safe and responsible management of radioactive waste. <\/p>\n

Created in 2010 at the initiative of the French government, I2EN brings together key French players in scientific, technical, and professional nuclear training. Its mission is to promote, coordinate, and harmonize French nuclear training offerings, particularly for countries looking to develop or strengthen their nuclear programs. Thanks to its expert committee and its  Quality Seal,<\/a> I2EN ensures the coherence and visibility of French excellence abroad.<\/p>\n

Andra is a public institution tasked with designing, implementing, and ensuring safe and responsible management solutions for all French radioactive waste. It shares its expertise both in France and internationally, focusing on public consultation and information. With over fifty years of expertise in radioactive waste storage, the agency works long-term to ensure the transfer of knowledge. <\/p>\n

This partnership integrates Andra’s unique expertise into the I2EN ecosystem, enhancing the structure and dissemination of specialized training in nuclear waste management. It also fosters coordination among French sector players, helping to increase the visibility and international influence of French excellence. <\/p>\n

Through this collaboration, I2EN and Andra commit to training a highly skilled global workforce and supporting both France and foreign countries, as well as the academic world, with a comprehensive training offer on issues related to radioactive waste management, drawing on France’s experience in this field.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

La mission de l’Andra est d’assurer la gestion \u00e0 long terme de l’ensemble des d\u00e9chets radioactifs produits sur le territoire fran\u00e7ais, de la conception des solutions jusqu’\u00e0 leur stockage d\u00e9finitif. Parmi ses initiatives phares, le projet  CIG\u00c9O<\/a>, the deep geological storage facility located in Meuse\/Haute-Marne, is a global example of scientific and technical excellence for the safe and permanent disposal of high-level, long-lived waste. Andra also manages several state-of-the-art surface storage facilities, ensuring the safe and transparent management of low-level and short-lived waste.<\/p>\n

Beyond its infrastructures, Andra is a driving force for training and international collaboration.
