This expert governance fully embodies the mission of I2EN: <strong>to support, certify, and promote excellence in nuclear education within a demanding industrial and scientific context<\/strong>, in order to meet the energy and technological challenges of tomorrow.<\/p><p>Committee members, bound by a confidentiality agreement, serve a renewable six-year term. They appoint a chairman from among themselves who reports directly to the I2EN president, ensuring consistency between the committee&#8217;s analysis and the Institute&#8217;s strategic directions. Committee<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"ekit-team-modal-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPierre Eymond is an engineer with a degree from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (INPG), specializing in energy and nuclear physics. He dedicated his entire career to the nuclear industry at EDF, covering roles from reactor operations to technical maintenance. From 2015 to 2022, he led the Nuclear Rapid Action Force (FARN), a unique unit responsible for crisis management and rapid response within France's nuclear facilities. Under his leadership, FARN was solidified as a major operational structure, enhancing safety and resilience during crises, notably post-Fukushima and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. He has had a dedicated career in nuclear physics research, radioactive waste management, and the development of fast neutron reactors. As the author of several publications, he focuses on improving the safety, competitiveness, and sustainability of nuclear technologies. His work delves into the physicochemistry of actinides, spent fuel reprocessing and recycling, and the future of nuclear systems. Her studies illuminated processes impacting ecosystems, reinforced concrete corrosion, and medical nanoparticle synthesis. In collaboration with the Institut Curie and IFPEN, she developed microfluidic tools for radionuclide analysis and separation, particularly for fuel reprocessing. She has over 25 years of experience in radioactive waste management safety, focusing on existing and planned waste storage facilities. She is currently the Deputy Director of Research and Environmental Expertise at the ASNR (a merger of IRSN and ASN since January 2025), overseeing expertise, studies, and research in this area. He began his career at CEA Marcoule as a doctoral student before joining Alphatem Services as a testing manager for the commissioning of the plutonium purification workshop at La Hague. At STMI, he participated in the decommissioning of the CEA Fontenay-aux-Roses facilities, managing high-activity liquid effluent treatment units and solvent mineralization. From 2001 to 2006, he contributed to international projects at AREVA, first in La Hague preparing for the commissioning of the Rokkasho Reprocessing Plant (RRP) in Japan and training Japanese operators on-site, then at RRP for active commissioning as deputy head of the uranium and plutonium purification workshops.   \n\nFrom 2001 to 2006, he was also involved in validating the design and safety principles of the purification part of the Mox Fuel Fabrication Facility project in the USA.\nSince his return to France, he has been in charge of studies at ORANO La Hague in the laboratory expertise unit. A graduate engineer from Grenoble INP - Phelma, he has extensive experience in managing R&amp;D projects covering geoscience, uranium ore extraction and processing, as well as environmental rehabilitation. Since 2016, he has led digital innovation programs for uranium mines in Kazakhstan, Niger, and Canada. Herv\u00e9 Toubon has also held key positions at AREVA Mines and Canberra Industries, where he coordinated European projects in nuclear measurement and fuel physics. He is recognized for his expertise in measurement systems in nuclear environments and intellectual property management in this field.
