The Committee of Experts

Pierre Eymond is the chairperson of the I2EN Committee of Experts since March 2024.

An energy and nuclear engineering, Pierre Eymond’s career initially focused on core design and fuel procurement (SEPTEN, RetD, Fuel Division as procurement project manager), before moving on to maintenance with the following responsiblities:

• He was Head of Department and Technical Director of the Saint-Laurent-des-Eaux nuclear power plant
• He then became the Director of Maintenance Operations, in charge of project management for maintenance operations on major reactor components (steam generators, primary pumps, tanks, turbines, etc.).

In his career he also held two other significant positions:

• He was responsible for nuclear issues in the EDF representative office to the European institutions in Brussels
• He was also in charge of crisis management for EDF’s nuclear fleet and director of the EDF Nuclear Rapid Response Force set up after Fukushima.

Pierre is a member of the Gendarmerie Citizens’ Reserve.
