Gilles PERRIN

Gilles Perrin is Scientific Director at Framatome. He works mainly on issues relating to nuclear reactors and the fuel cycle.

He graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique in 1984 and joined the Corps des Mines in 1987. He is the author of 21 articles in international journals and invited papers in the field of materials science. He completed his doctoral thesis on the ductility of metals in 1992 before joining Professor J.R. Rice at Harvard University to conduct research on seismicity. From 1993 to 1997, he worked for the French Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN), before joining IFPEN, where he worked on mechanical sciences for the oil industry.

Gilles Perrin joined AREVA in 2008 (Framatome as of 4 January 2018). He was a professor at the École Polytechnique from 1994 to 2005, at the University of Versailles from 2005 to 2014, and at the University of Paris-Saclay and the University of Burgundy since 2014. Gilles Perrin is also a member of research assessment committees.
