In 50 years, the Nantes University has raised education and research to the highest level. In 2015, it was included in the Times Higher Education ranking of the most renowned and prestigious universities in the world. In 2017, it was awarded the I-Site (Initiatives Science, Innovation, Territories, Economy) label by the Investissement d’Avenir program thanks to the NExT project. The master degree in fundamental physics and applications, with a specialization in nuclear dismantling and modeling, is taught by engineers from the nuclear industry (EDF, CEA, Areva, Assystem ….). Dismantling project management requires skills in nuclear regulations, risk and environmental impact studies, safety, project studies and management, calls for tender, the MOP law, radiological characterization, decontamination, civil engineering, cutting tools, remote operation, aerosols, ventilation, waste, transport, and economic aspects.

The professional degree in radiation protection and the environment is designed to meet the needs of companies by training “expert technician” type specialists in the fields of radiation protection, nuclear safety and the use of ionizing radiation. Graduates will be able to work in the public and private sectors in the various fields of nuclear science and technology, such as radiation protection in industrial and hospital settings, environmental monitoring, and nuclear instrumentation.
